Apple just announced another record quarter. David Goldman thinks Apple has a problem.
Apple critics have chastised the company for relying on a single product, the iPhone, for the bulk of the company’s revenue. That hasn’t changed — the iPhone still accounts for more than half of Apple’s overall sales.
Less than half. It’s math.
Apple has diversified. Apple’s AirPods are ubiquitous. Apple Pay is a hit. So is the Apple Watch. Even the iPad is suddenly making a comeback after years of dormancy.
