What is different about Apple Watch Series 5 and Series 4? Many things, but one that struck me right away seems less important than it should be. The always-on display. Always on.
Last year’s Series 4 included the most significant changes to Apple’s wearable since the launch. The screen got 30% larger, plus there is an ECG and fall detection. This company isn’t in the habit of making huge hardware changes to its products two years in a row. Think of the Apple Watch Series 5 as sort of a Series 4S — a moderately improved version of its predecessor.
I have Watch Series 4 and it’s the best Watch I’ve ever owned. Even if Series 5 has an always-on display it seems to me that I still need to lift up and tilt my wrist to see the time so how is that going to be different than Series 4?
This is one of those new features you need to see. Literally.
